What should I wear on my flight?
We recommend wearing a long sleeve shirt, pants, and comfortable shoes. For the Luxury AStar tour, we highly recommend wearing black or dark colors to reduce the glare from the windows for better photos. For the Door-Off experience, we ask you to bring a light jacket (preferably waterproof) and shoes that are laced or strapped on.
Can I bring my children on the tour?
As long as your child meets our age requirements, we highly recommend it! For the doors-off tour, your child must be __ years of age. For the Luxury AStar tour with doors, they can be as young as __ if accompanied by an adult. If your child is not old enough yet, we recommend asking your hotel if they offer any babysitting or daycare services.
Are there weight restrictions?
Our weight limit in place for an individual is 250 lbs and 400 lbs for a couple. Weight limits include all clothing, shoes, and carry-on items. The reason why our weight limit is different for couples is to ensure that they can be on the same flight and allow them to sit next to each other. The weight and balance of a helicopter are crucial to its ability to fly, so we appreciate your understanding of strictly enforcing this policy. In order to comply with FAA regulations, we will discretely weigh every passenger upon checking in.
What is your weather policy?
If we feel the weather is such that it is not worth your time and money for a flight, we will not fly your tour. Before every flight, the pilots make the decision whether or not to fly dependant on current conditions. Keep in mind that weather patterns vary from hour to hour on Kauai. The fantastic waterfalls for which Kauai is famous will be viewed on every flight; however, they become more abundant soon after rain. Remember, it takes rain to make rainbows! Each tour is unique and the exact path flown will vary depending on the weather.
What is your cancellation policy?
You may cancel your flight with no obligations by notifying us at least 24 hours before your tour is scheduled to depart. “No-shows” and reservations canceled within the 24-hour period before the scheduled flight time are subject to full charges.
When is the best time to fly?
There really is no right or wrong answer to this one. It is purely a matter of opinion and perspective. Due to Kauai’s frequent weather changes, it is hard to predict exactly what you will experience on your flight. So, we ask you to simply book when is most convenient for your itinerary. We do recommend booking your tour towards the beginning of your vacation so that if the weather does not cooperate we have more opportunities to reschedule you.
Can I request a seat?
Because safety is our first priority, we must arrange seating to optimize the weight and balance of the aircraft. However, if you do have a seat preference you have the opportunity to let the staff know upon booking. We will try our best to honor those requests but please keep in mind, we cannot guarantee any seat requests.Â
Will I get motion sickness?
If you are especially prone to motion sickness, we do recommend taking a precautionary anti-motion sickness medication for ease of mind. However, we can assure you that our pilots are highly skilled and will maintain the best flight path to ensure a smooth and steady ride.
What will I see on my tour?
